Elf The Musical is a story about Buddy, who, when he was a young orphan, crawled into one of Santa’s gift bags and traveled to the North Pole. Unfortunately, though, he grows up to become much taller than the other elves and he’s horrible at making toys. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Elf The Musical has had successful runs both on Broadway and in London’s West End, and it’s no wonder: the creative team behind it includes Thomas Meehan, who co-wrote the book for Annie, Bob Martin, who wrote the book for The Drowsy Chaperone, and Matthew Sklar, who wrote the music for the Broadway production of The Wedding Singer. But that’s not where these creators’ resumes stop:
Matthew Sklar composed the music for Elf The Musical. He’s received both a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score and a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Music for his work on The Wedding Singer. He has been a pianist, conductor and/or arranger for more than a dozen Broadway productions, including Shrek; Caroline, or Change; Nine; 42nd Street; Titanic; Miss Saigon, and Les Misérables. He has also contributed original music to the hit Nickelodeon television series “Wonder Pets.”
