3 Doors Down: Good Ol’ Southern Boys
The Better Life Foundation has supported dozens of children’s and family charities
3 Doors Down established The Better Life Foundation in March of 2004 with the mission to make a positive change in the lives of children and young adults in need of food, shelter and medical assistance, and to also enhance their lives. The money that 3 Doors Down’s charity raises is distributed to organizations and hospitals that help children afford a better life, one in which they can develop their potential, achieve their goals, and become caring and responsible adults.
A benefit weekend for the group’s fundraising efforts is the main avenue for fundraising. The one in 2016, for example, included a VIP party, motorcycle ride, silent auction, a raffle for a custom-built motorcycle, and a concert. Past guest performers have included: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tracey Lawrence, Shinedown, Staind, Hinder, Sara Evans, Muzikmafia, Daughtry, Theory of a Deadman, Jamey Johnson, SEETHER, Saving Abel and more.
To date the foundation has raised and distributed over $3,000,000 to children’s charities, local municipalities and faith-based groups to achieve its goals in helping communities and children in need. They’ve helped Special Olympics in Mississippi (their home state), Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital, and Boys and Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast, to name a few.
In 2005 when hurricane Katrina stuck New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, The Better Life Foundation was committed to donating funds, providing support and relief to southern Mississippi that was largely overlooked by the press and media. Working directly with local municipalities, the foundation provided funding to support the rebuilding process as well as buying fire trucks and police cars. Here’s a montage the group put together to document some of their efforts to help in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Aside from being passionate philanthropists, 3 Doors Down are committed to giving their fans a great live show! They will be performing on our stage on March 13. You can order your tickets here.
