Riho Esko Maimets: New commission
Brahms Symphony No. 3 in F major
Dvořák: Cello Concerto in B minor
Internationally renowned Canadian-German cellist Johannes Moser makes his KWS debut playing Dvořák’s magnificent Concerto — symphonic in scale, with gloriously beautiful writing for both cello and orchestra. Edwin Outwater pairs this with Brahms’ Third Symphony, one of his most personal and intimate orchestral works. Young Canadian composer Riho Esko Maimets writes a brand new piece for the KWS, the latest commission in a long line of new works written for the orchestra during Edwin’s tenure.
