The KWS season opens with Mason Bates’ innovative Mothership, combining the sound of the full orchestra with pulsing electronica and surprise soloists from far outside the box. KWS favourite Natasha Paremski returns to play Rachmaninoff’s most challenging and thrilling concerto. Tchaikovsky’s fateful Fourth Symphony, full of dazzling solo and ensemble moments for the orchestra, closes this rousing and exciting opening program.
