Edwin Outwater, conductor
Alon Goldstein, piano

Tchaikovsky: The Tempest Fantasy-Overture
Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major
Rimsky-Korsakov: Scheherazade

Three Russian masterpieces are combined to create a program bursting with musical colour, virtuosity and fantasy. Tchaikovsky’s rarely heard music to The Tempest opens the program (a favourite of Edwin’s); Alon Goldstein makes his KWS debut in Prokofiev’s fiendishly challenging Piano Concerto No. 3; and Scheherazade takes us on a magical journey of sound, storytelling and imagination.
