Blending drag, performance art, history, and storytelling, Travesty traces the secret queer history of a single location across time. A witch burns in a field. A clown builds a theatre. An underground gay bar rises up against the police.

Through a series of spectacular lip-sync performances, Velour embodies characters from different eras and explores the enduring cycles of existence, resistance, and camp that define drag. The result is a visually stunning and deeply moving theatrical experience that will have audiences cheering, dancing, and inspired to change the world.

Velour is celebrated for her distinctive fusion of lip-sync performance, video art, fashion, and storytelling. She won Season 9 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and is the founder and host of New York City’s legendary drag revue NightGowns. Her acclaimed solo theatre productions Smoke & Mirrors and The Big Reveal have toured around the world.

A special guest star will join Velour onstage in each city as part of the performance.
