Brothers Rauf, Urooj, Ahmed, and Azeem are the sons and disciples of acclaimed maestro Ustad Naseeruddin Saami. Winners of the 2025 Aga Khan Music Awards, they carry forward the Qawwal Bacha Delhi Gharana, a musical lineage tracing its roots back 800 years to the Sufi poet and musician Amir Khusrau.
Discover two distinct and deeply expressive vocal traditions. Qawwali brings together layered voices, harmonium, and tabla in a powerful expression of devotion, building from meditative beginnings to exhilarating peaks. Khayaal, meaning “imagination” or “thought,” invites quiet contemplation through intricate vocal improvisation, exploring the depth and emotion of a single raga.
