Friday, March 20, 2026 | 8:00 PM
Two of Canada’s greatest pianists perform exquisite repertoire for two pianos by Mozart, Chopin, and Gershwin. “A performer of near-superhuman technical prowess” (The New York Times), Marc-André Hamelin is known worldwide for his unrivalled blend of consummate musicianship and brilliant technique in the great works of the established repertoire, as well as for his intrepid exploration of the rarities of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.
Silver medalist and laureate of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Charles Richard-Hamelin stands out as one of the most important musicians of his generation. In 2014, he also won the second prize at the Montreal International Musical Competition and the third prize at the Seoul International Music Competition in South Korea. “Charles Richard-Hamelin is a musician-pianist: fluent, multi-faceted and tonally seductive.” (BBC Music Magazine).
